Remaker – beautiful Furniture makeovers creates a stylish new look for our client’s interiors by providing a service of re-finishing old furniture. From our busy workshop in Diep River, we serve homemakers primarily in Cape Town's Southern Suburbs.
Repurposing your long-standing furniture is often the best way to go when the need to redecorate arises. Adding a new dimension to a sentimental, long-loved piece brings a sense of pride and joy. Refurbishing your older furniture instead of buying new, is not only economical and good for the environment but is a wonderful creative outlet too, especially in the current times.
We hand paint in French & Swedish antique styles; provide custom timber finishes; gilding & silver leafing finishes. We also do spray-painting and roller-painting to give your furniture a fresh new look with a smooth, contemporary finish.
Our furniture makeovers include repairing of furniture, sourcing and fitting of new handles and re-upholstery services. We further offer interior design collaboration.

Qualified as an interior designer, Hilary Greg, Founder of reMaker - beautiful Furniture makeovers, has 20 years’ experience providing furniture, wall and floor finishes. He has been employed in design, restaurant management and as a cabin attendant with South African Airways.
International traveling and overseas living converge with Hilary's highly experienced sense of style to create a mutually beneficial furniture makeover experience.
How We Work
We provide a cost estimate based on photos sent to us. By text or call, we discuss the options of various finishes and their varying costings. A quote is offered once we have viewed the furniture and your chosen finish is selected.
We require a 70% deposit and the balance due before delivery.
Transportation of your furniture to and from the reMaker workshop is outsourced or you may arrange your own delivery.
Photos of the progress of your beautiful furniture makeover are sent to you. Prior to sealing, you are invited to view the furniture so that any amendments can be made.
Our purpose is refurbishing furniture and relationships.
People have relationships with furniture. Some furniture is a sentimental heirloom from a loving Granny. Some furniture reminds you of your honeymoon or a time it when it was bought. Furniture, like people, can be renewed, transformed and repurposed, resulting in a unique, valuable, useful and beautiful creation.
